Garlic Scape Pesto
Have you been curious about those thin curly bundles of green shoots that pop up around this time of year? They are garlic scapes.
Garlic scapes are the flower bud of the garlic plant and has a light garlic flavour that is perfect for many recipes. You can grill them, add them to stir fry, use them in hummus or butter and so much more. But one of the most popular ways to use them is in Garlic Scape Pesto.
Makes about 2 cups
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until pesto consistency is reached.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Remove 20 minutes before using. Also add freeze in ice cube trays and transfer to a freezer safe bag. Remove as many as needed.
