Many of us at Nature’s Fare Markets are feeling a little sad to say farewell to our compostable shopping bags and packaging for our products.
Doing what’s right for the earth is a huge part of who we are and our compostable shopping bags and compostable containers for our Bistro and Grab ‘n Go —were a sturdy and eco-safe solution.
Sadly, under the federal legislation on single-use plastic items, as of December 20th 2023 we can no longer purchase these compostable shopping bags and compostable containers for our Bistro program. We will now transition to 100% recyclable containers— choosing the most environmentally friendly versions available. Our compostable produce bags are not affected by this legislation, so we still offer those in store.
Of course, BYO Bag is always best, and here are some other options to help lighten your footprint:
- Purchase a Nature’s Fare Reusable Bag or Bring Your Own.
- Ask for a box at the till. We’ll do our best to keep these stocked and handy.
- Skip the lid on your bistro coffee or smoothie.
